Sylvia Milton is a COSRT Accredited and UKCP Registered Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist.
For some 17 years, she worked as a psychosexual and relationship therapist alongside senior consultants at the York Sex & Relationship Clinic, Guy’s Hospital, London.
She provided Initial Assessment, Formulation and Treatment Plans for therapy with couples and individuals who were experiencing problems in their sex lives and/or their relationships. This work included, for example, couple therapy (same sex or heterosexual), gender identity disorder, vaginismus, “victims” of childhood and adult sexual abuse, and a wide spectrum of other psychosexual and relationship difficulties.

Now in private practice, Sylvia continues to specialise in psychosexual and relationship matters, while still working in the Mental Health field with individuals, couples and groups suffering from a mental health illness or life/work problems.
Sexual problems can seriously undermine a person’s self esteem or destroy a relationship, and many people are either too embarrassed to ask for help or do not know where to find it. It is essential to find a therapist who is professionally qualified, accredited and registered.
It is recommended, but not obligatory, to attend with your partner/spouse. Since sex and the relationship involves two people, the feelings and attitudes of both partners are relevant to the resolution.
The therapy is confidential, although you may sometimes be referred to a doctor, with your knowledge and approval, if physical assessment and treatments are necessary, e.g. for Peyronie’s Disease, erectile dysfunction, vaginismus, vulvitis, etc.
Psychosexual and relationship therapy is a very effective way of dealing with problems that can undermine harmonious relationships and therefore a happy family life for you, your partner/spouse and, if you have them, children.
