blue chip corporate & occupational health sector

Trainer, Workplace Counsellor, Counselling Supervisor, Mentor

Sylvia’s experience includes the design, organisation and delivery of many MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS AND WELLBEING PROJECTS including taking counselling services into business and industry.

She has worked with numerous blue chip organisations’ Occupational Health departments as a Professional Training Consultant, Supervisor and Workplace Counsellor, specialising in all stress-related areas: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Relationship Problems (personal and with colleagues) and work-based problems.

In addition she supervised and trained groups of Occupational Health Advisors in using counselling skills in the workplace.
One of Sylvia’s initiatives was to develop and train Managers and Occupational Health Advisors to carry out a 15-minute Counselling “session”, which was especially relevant to the pressured situations that Supervisors, Managers and Occupational Health Advisors experience at work. It reflected Sylvia’s ability to help Occupational Health Advisors and Managers to arrive swiftly at the root cause of a problem and provide a qualitative approach to support the member of staff as appropriate, without losing too much time from the working day.

She has mentored Managers responsible for the mental health of employees, in the highly competitive Corporate world, working with Blue Chip companies such as Tesco’s, British Airways, BP, Natwest Bank, The Stock Exchange, Bank of England, the Metropolitan Police and others.
